Saviii 3rd just One of Them Artists
In the way that the Battle of Lexington and Concord ignited the American Revolution, the war between the Crips and Bloods was sparked by the Hollywood Leather Jacket Murder, in 1972. California’s infamous gang politics ensued in the aftermath, resulting in blue and red bandannas spreading across the nation. However, gang allegiances aren’t merely reduced to red or blue clothing. Even so, East Long Beach’s Saviii 3rd interfuses California gang politics and his woes, creating a new G-funk akin to Snoop.
SnowBoy was Saviii 3rd’s first official mixtape in 2018. Saviii 3rd’s earlier releases were surprisingly polished for an underground rapper. His attention to detail distinguished his music compared to others’ early releases. Saviii 3rd’s pre chorus in B******T raps, “ Can't a nigga touch me cuz I been what it was and they been what it wasn't. Understand i'm the man, do what you can, and I do all the shit that I shouldn't. I done had enough in it, get crackin', get back on my bullshit.” The project is fully west coast, from the production to the cadence of his flow.
Saviii 3rd’s ability to fuse introspection and club-esque instrumentals is remarkable. After his third installment of Snowboy in 2021, Snowboy3, Saviii 3rd released his latest single Trooped Up. The track is another melodic credo from Saviii 3rd. The gruesome lyrics of catching your opposition slipping is woven with a captivating 808, thus creating an alluring crunk experience for the listeners. Truthfully, Saviii 3rd is bringing gangster rap’s groove back. Hip hop in Long Beach is in good hands.
