Silence for Leyla Blue

Born and raised in New York, Leyla Blue is the new underrated Popstar the world didn't know it needed. In 2019 Leyla released her first EP, Songs For Boys That Didn't Text Me Back, which contains three unique and captivating tracks describing her heartbreak and anxiety struggles. However, it's not until one year later, in 2020, that her empowering song What a Shame blows up on Tik Tok, becoming a viral hit, catching the singer by surprise.

Later that year, Leyla released a few more songs like "Gasoline," where the new yorker combines soaring harmonies with a playful beat creating a certain sarcasm between the lyrics and the happy tone the track delivers. On the other hand, Company has this somber bold, raw vibe where the singer describes the fight against herself and her thoughts. This song is, without a doubt, one of my personal favorites. It's tied with her other song, "F*** Yourself," where Leyla raises her voice as a feminist by criticizing how the men are praised, and women are belittled while acting the same way.

2021 brought exciting news for Leyla; she got to go on her first soldout tour with Tai Verdes. After the tour, which went from the UK to America on the first Friday of December, Leyla released "Hot One" featuring Baby Tate and REI AMI, and let me tell you, no one was prepared for this. "Hot One" is an inviting danceable pop song made to reach the charts and all of social media. So why aren't we all talking about Leyla Blue? She clearly isn't a one-hit-wonder, and I can't wait to see what this young hurricane of talent presents to us next.
