Peace and tranquility my friends. Both are things that elude me at this current moment. I have true aspirations of having a very wavy summer but outside is getting expensive. $150 exited my bank account soon as I jumped off the porch and that was the only sign needed to let me know I need to stay inside and surf the Apple Music waters for new waves instead. That brought me across a new single "Everything I Want" from Santa Monica, California artist Leven Kali.

Leven displays flawless harmonies and runs over one of my top threefavorite production pieces this year. A well-executed example of what the art should sound like when everything falls into the right place, the multi-faceted beat rest under Leven's silk vocals that can do no wrong as he sings about how his love interest is everything he wants. This is the song you slip into the playlist when she's finally ready to come through.

Sidenote: there's a line about facetime here that takes me back to when I used to get dressed up to facetime. Shorty would be on the other side of the call wondering why I have a jacket and hat on in the crib. Did anybody else do that or was that just me? Never mind we'll get back to this later.

"Everything I Want" is a top-tier, solid introduction to Leven Kali's music if you're hearing him for the first time. It's a different sound than the previous two singles he's released this year (go listen to EEK directly after this, trust me) and as of my time writing this, it's been worth every replay. As long as he continues making music that lands the way this one does it's going to be very hard to sleep on him.

With that being said, my friends. It's time for me to disappear off into the distance and pray the warriors don't lose this final series because I am truly not prepared to apologize to everyone.
