A Tribute to 'The Motherland' by Scythian

Seeing bands and musicians perform live is always an exciting experience. There is something special in the air of a live performance, where artists and their fans can share the same space in a way that’s unlike anywhere else. Some performers are so lively and engaging on the stage, that they leave an impression on us long after the show has ended. If you’re from the Washington D.C. area, then chances are you may have experienced this sensation yourself with the talented Celtic rock/Americana band, Scythian.

This talented band of four musicians has been performing since 2002 and has been stunning audiences with their talented musical skills and amazing stage presence ever since. There is a friendly, intimate atmosphere conveyed in their music that makes you feel a part of the music and welcomed even if you’re thousands of miles away from an actual live performance.

Their latest single, “The Motherland”, pays homage to Ukraine and the strong people who live there. With the two founders of the band being first-generation sons of immigrants from Ukraine, it’s not surprising to hear the lively traces of folk music interspersed with the Celtic and Rock elements in their songs. And much like every other high-quality album and single they’ve produced, “The Motherland” creates a fun, energetic listening experience for any occasion while including meaningful and touching lyrics that honor the people of Ukraine.

“The Motherland“and Scythian’s other hit songs are available on streaming platforms such as Spotify and Apple Music. Check out their Youtube Channel or website for more information on their upcoming shows, along with ways that you can donate to Ukrainian refugees.
