Don't Miss Wave Parker's “It's Wonderful”

Whether it’s the lyrics, the artist’s voice, or the overall sound and mood it provides, certain music stays with you.

From Cincinnati, Ohio, Wave Parker is an artist who blends soul-inspired seasonings with hip-hop. The production paired with the thoughtful lyrics and the riveting way Wave Parker expresses them, makes his music both enjoyable and inspiring. His recent mixtape, It’s Wonderful, released on the first of September, is no different.

Glimmering with fragments of applause, and a production marinated with groove and funk, “Flamingo Feathers” is a strong and stylish opener. Wave Parker brings self-assurance by stating, “I’ve been up next for a minute, it’s whatever. Still gonna spread my flamingo feathers.” Truly, this song, with its exquisite vibes, may help summon the confidence needed in life.

Grounded with the deep tones coating the production, “Sumn Sumn” has a darker, captivating edge. Wave Parker’s delivery is both relaxed and expressive, his passion for music clear and natural. Sliding into their parts with distinct tones, Swooty Mac and Riah Bella are welcome additions.

“Quality Assurance” may be less than two minutes long, but it’s unforgettable, bouncing with old-school flavors. Of course, Wave Parker casually dominates this track with his sunny and sleek energy. Moving leisurely and sensually, “Let ‘Em Know” enchants with its instrumentals. Wave Parker’s smooth and bold style both complements and is an ear-catching variation from the velvety production.

Tinted with distorted vocals placed throughout the song, “New Form” is an unforgettable piece of the mixtape. With lyrics such as “this type of evolution doesn’t happen overnight” and “it’s on you to stay consistent and believe within yourself,” it’s clear this song isn’t solely a personal one. Wave Parker doesn’t refrain from speaking about his experiences, but this song encourages those listening to follow their path with consistent determination.

Enlivening the laid-back production with his fervor, “The Steez Way” highlights Wave Parker’s confidence. He remarks, “trying to tango with me, got to practice your dancing.” Wave Parker appears to know he’s on another level from his peers and rivals. Whoever may put him down, he won’t give them attention because he’s aware of his worth.

Ending It’s Wonderful with conviction, “YuYu Hakusho” refers to the manga/animated series, which revolves around a powerful boy named Yusuke Urameshi. Just as he becomes stronger throughout his journey, this song promotes pursuing your dreams, even if it’s not what others expect. Du$a, who co-wrote the song, adds a unique flair. These lyrics, “fighting demons every day, soon it’s gonna get better,” reveal that life, and believing in yourself, isn’t always easy. However, the chances for happiness increase with hope, self-consideration, and persistent effort.

On Instagram, Wave Parker announced eight upcoming mixtapes. So far, only two have been released, It’s Wonderful and Same Hustle, Different Product. If you’re new to him, Wave Parker has been dropping music on Spotify since 202l and has multiple albums to dive into. With the excellent sounds his music provides and the essential messages he upholds to himself and his listeners, there’s plenty that’s wonderful about the artist Wave Parker.
