The Memphis Siren - An Introduction to A.R. The Mermaid

A.R. The Mermaid CEO, stamps it.

Somebody tell the other Ariel to watch out, cause there’s a new mermaid taking over the kingdom. A.R. The Mermaid, or the Memphis siren as I like to call her, is the newest artist to be emerging out of the city. From her striking style, sensuality, and boy-ish charm, A.R. The Mermaid has managed to turn heads in this scene.

Now she’s no stranger to the industry, with A.R. starting her career at the tender age of 15, she found herself touring with acts like Mindless Behavior and the O.M.G Girlz while in a girl group by the name of Karma. Making the decision to go solo at 17, A.R. revamped her lover-girl, R&B persona to who she truly was. A spunky and rambunctious personality with originality that’s undeniable. Her psychedelic music videos lay a great background for her heart-pumpin’ and head-bumpin’ melodies. A.R.’s most popular releases like “Sneaky Link” and “Let A Ho Play” are layered perfectly from the rough Memphis sound to the lifestyle she raps about. Her content is remanent to Memphis legends like La Chat and Gangsta Boo, but A.R.’s rockstar flare allows her to stand out from the crowd.

A.R.’s latest release, “Suki”, is a frank but pseudo love letter to Sukihana or anyone with comparable OnlyFans content (now that’s a little hard to come by). She doesn’t shy away from her desires with lyrics such as “really straight up on these n*ggas, I like ass and coochie”, followed by “she can come home to my place we can make a movie”. Sorry if you ladies expected to be wined and dined, A.R. doesn’t play for keeps. This song along with countless other hits are the reason why she garners so much attention. Her alternative sound and intricate bars are telling as to why the Memphis scene reigns supreme.

A.R. The Mermaid’s discography is certified gold, and can only go up from here. Be sure to add a few songs to your playlists for some bragging rights when she blows up!
