Premiere: Hrs & Hrs remix By Genesis Renji & Jordan Orionn

Sometimes I wonder if I spoil you, my friends. Then I remember my mom telling me that good people deserve good things and if you’re reading this that means you’re a good person. She’s told me a lot of stuff I should’ve listened to but hey who’s counting? Anyway, though, I come through equipped with a new “Hrs & Hrs” remix from Milwaukee artist Genesis Renji.

Sidenote: I feel like all there is to do in Milwaukee is work on raps and try out for the Bucks…truth be told you probably could’ve made the team as a walk-on like 5 years ago. Now they’re the defending world champs. Still can't convince me that the owner of the Bucks doesn't have some sort of dirt on Adam Silver.

If you’ve been on Instagram reels or Tik Tok then you know that Muni Long’s “Hrs and Hrs” has had black couples across the globe in one of the tightest chokeholds ever. Think Ving Rhames sneaking up on Tyrese kind of chokehold. But my good pal Renji came through with a switch-up that is absolutely fire. It's a fresh new take on the song that’s not just him rapping over the instrumental.

Renji’s remix samples Jordan Orionn’s cover of the “Hrs & Hrs” that was already flawless, to begin with. Producer 46Brock does a great job of flipping the sample and honestly could’ve made it a standalone instrumental and it would still deserve to be played back over and over. Not to be outdone by the production tho Renji finds himself rapping some of the best bars I’ve heard from him while questioning past and present relationships and whether or not he’s on the right path. Lines about being almost 30 and trying to ignore it cause me to self-reflect on my own goals as someone who hit 30 2 years ago. Thanks, Renji.

Jordan Orionn also provides a unique performance midway through the song and keeping it a buck I’d say she reminds me of Erykah Badu vocally. She’s a refreshing break that’s perfectly placed between 2 verses that would feel a bit too long to truly appreciate without her. I hadn’t heard of her before but now I recommend you all go listen to “No Mental Chains” and get acquainted.

That's it for me, my friends, I gotta book a flight to Dallas and figure out why the fuck Mike Mccarthy still has a job. While I do that hit the link below and listen to the “Hrs & Hrs” remix by Genesis Renji and Jordan Orionn. Audiomack this time! I know I'm normally “Mr. Apple Music” but this one is strictly on Audiomack and you should already have that app downloaded if you truly care about fresh new waves.
