It’s difficult to find the “next big thing” in hip-hop culture because of the ever-changing nature of the genre. Who could extrapolate trends in rap from Yeat, to Eem Triplin, to Westside Gunn? These niche artists are all experiencing success based on their fans enjoying a captivating music experience varied from rap’s normalcy.

I accidentally stumbled across the artist, Myles Brando while scrolling through the ‘gram and was pleasantly surprised with his discography. The Brooklyn artist is no stranger to the underground and has been officially dropping since 2019. In his limited discography, Myles Brando exhibits his varied skillset in what he’s released.

His most recently released single You Got It, shows fans not only that he is in fact “radio-ready” but that he can tap into a more sensitive side, musically. In the newest single Myles Brando combines his soulful vocals and smart raps on a track that should’ve been one of the songs to take over this past summer on a mainstream level.

While his newest single more so falls into the vain of a more typical rap song he also taps into the more recent modern sounds of other punch-in artists and exemplifies that he can switch lanes in and out of musical pockets in songs like Dropped! Spacey, ethereal beats come together with pitched vocals combine to create a catchy vibe.  

Upon discovering Myles Brando’s Music my only disappointment arises in the fact that he has yet to drop a full album. His ability to create diverse music is evident and I’m interested to hear how the Brooklyn artist defines himself on his first project.
