T.E. : A Queen City Native

As a journalist, it's easy to find new music. We get sent unreleased songs, emails, direct messages, or find tunes on social media. The hard part for a journalist is finding good music. I stumbled upon T.E. on social media. After watching a 30-second clip, I was taken aback by his sound - I dug into his catalog. During my research, I quickly learned T.E. quality of sound is not only good but bound to make him a staple in the game.

Step 2 is the song that caught my attention. The production is layered with piano keys, snares, and trap drums, all elements creating a trap symphony beat. The Cincinnati native finds his zone rapping, "Know they tryin' knock me off my spot, but this ain't new to me. And they can't fill my shoes. I'm overworkin' like it two of me." You can hear his hunger and grasp how ambitious he is. Besides his work ethic, you learn how his arrival in this game caused quite a commotion. He may have got some hate, but he didn’t let that attention phase him - he stays out of the way either rapping over beat packs or stacking his paper.

Cold World is another song that caught my attention, often artists say that rapping is therapeutic for them, and you can tell that's the case for this song. T.E. dives deep into rapping about not being able to sleep for weeks and how money cannot bring his brother back. Despite all his pain and struggles T.E. remains focused and keeps elevating. With his work ethic, he's bound to be a staple not only in his city but globally.
