The Szns Comes Through With Drugs & Fun

My friends, I'm back from my hiatus. I had a bar to put here that was going to end with “Hi Haters” but I’ll save it. I’ve spent some time away watching mid movies, binge-watching ‘Stranger Things’ and of course parlaying in the apple music streets for new waves to bring you. This week’s wave is a new futuristic funk vibe from The Szns.

If you’ve been keeping up with me on Twitter you know The Szns is one of my favorites to break out this year. ‘Drugs & Fun’ is a “feel good” single that finds Szns experimenting with an electric collage of autotune assisted vocals, filtered strings, and hypnotizing drum loops. It’s a departure from the original trap-laced R&B that I first heard from The Szns. An upbeat wave that Paints the picture of someone wanting their love interest to just live in the moment and enjoy things as they are.

Szns uses repetition throughout backed by smooth harmonies that keep you in a chokehold during your listening experience. It works so much that I needed to sit this in my “I’m drunk during the day” playlist right next to “Emotional Oranges” and “Tha Intanetz”. Honestly, this is one of those songs you wanna hear out at brunch or a day party filled with pretty people, fruit-flavored beverages, and undamaged iPhone screens.

sidenote: the last brunch I went to had a pool in the middle of the spot that not one soul touched. Feel like I should’ve left a bad review for that but the mimosas were hitting.

Well on that note I have to go get ready for the NFL draft, my friends. My team is gonna disappoint the fuck out of me and I currently don’t have enough alcohol ready for that moment. While I’m out procuring that you all should stream ‘Drugs & Fun’ by The Szns.
