Nah but really, I conversed with Mdnight, an indie artist out of Gold Coast, Queensland. It was hard to track his location or time zone for the interview, but we got it done. 

Mdnight’s music isn’t tied to a sound, though rapping binds his genre bending, a fan of $YUCIDEBOY$. Where are the City Morgue fans at? Mdnight’s appreciation of grunge music, pop, and grimey hip hop is evident throughout Abyss, his first album. Obliterate Pt.2 is an outburst rager. Death of Me and EXAINTSHIT, harkens of a young BONES, just naming some tracks.

The cadence of Mdnight’s bars is an interesting ride throughout his work of music, accompanying the typical length of his projects, Mdnight’s music is easy to engage; definitely an artist to watch. Our underground Aussie, Mdnight assured us more emo rap for 2022, fortunately. I hope Mdnight’s sound expands on tracks like Kong, God Damn, Designer on the semi. A good listen on SoundCloud. Designer on the semi currently is the biggest song off the album, his track titled BabyFaygo: Toxic Relations, being his biggest single of yet.
