Built Different: Fly Cobain

My brothers and sisters, I come to you fresh off of an hour-long binge-watch of crate challenge videos, and I'm left trying to figure out where you niggas are finding the courage to attempt such a feat. I'm not even going to ask where you're getting them from because I know the answer is the FBI or CIA because that's the only answer that makes sense. Outside of that, I spent the weekend catching up on music I missed recently. Did you know a new rap album drops every 17 minutes on average? Of course, that's a made-up stat, but you believed me when you read it, don't lie. With so much music being made and released nowadays, there will always be songs that slip through the cracks. That's why I'm here to guide you right to the music that matters.

I found myself going through "Apply Pressure" by California native Fly Cobain and had to replay "Built Different" at least five times. With a beat reminiscent of the Kush and OJ Wiz Khalifa days, I wouldn't blame anybody who gets hooked on that alone. The raps match up well here as Fly Cobain highlights the difference between him and others. A choppy flow that almost sounds like a motivational speech from your OG at some points. "My nigga, where yo heart at? What's yo grind like?"

Sidenote: Anybody else knows that one OG that starts off giving you game, hyping you up, and then spirals into a monologue about how niggas like you don't listen even though you've been listening for the past hour? Lord, release the OGs from the shackles of those talks, please.

I say all that to say I thoroughly enjoyed the entire project, but this song was five flame emojis and deserves a plethora of spins in every playlist you have. The song also has a really polished mix to it. I know not everyone cares about that, but I say that to say this has the perfect mix to play in your car at loud volumes. Nothing over peaks, and it's an ideal blend with great raps on top of a smooth beat. I feel like that's become underrated in an era where your cousin Chris can start rapping tomorrow and have a project on all the main DSPs by Friday.

Well, my friends, I now have to watch this Spider-Man Now Way Home trailer for the 7th time. Until next time stream "Built Different" by Fly Cobain and remember… If I see you in these Madden 22 streets, I'm running the score up on you with Dak Prescott, and all of the cheesy money plays. You can complain to John Madden himself, my guy.
