Backseat Smiles’ Demmo, the Sound of Atlanta
Diversity is the flavor of life so new and different sounds are always a breath of fresh air in this game of rap. Atlanta native and rapper, Backseat Smiles broke into the Atlanta rap underground and continues to make a lane for himself.
Atlanta is an epicenter of flavor, Smiles is a product of that. The savvy nuances, eccentricities, style, and intelligence is prevalent throughout the ATL rap arena and especially in the sounds of Backseat Smiles. Varied flows carried by gritty, raspy, vocals help depict life through the lends of Smiles.
Smiles and the Backseat collective had a successful summer full of shows following the release of Smiles’ Demmo (Die Easy my M.O.), his first release on major streaming platforms, and a formal introduction to the industry. Smiles displays cleverness on nearly every second of the album, from the concepts behind the songs PLUS FLOW and 9L and the catchy hooks, specifically on START WAYS, to his exhibition as a wordsmith on 10PC.
Smiles continues his climb on the rap radar, consistently performing; putting his heart and mind into his music effectively representing Backseat and the A. While members of the Backseat have been cooking, Smiles has been relatively quiet. Yet, fans are still salivating for more of Smiles from the Backseat House.
