A Happy Meal with Simon John

Directly from Los Angeles, Simon John is transforming his visionary and bold ideas into diverse and intense alternative songs. In 2020, Simon started releasing his dynamic singles, introducing us first to “Wrote for You”. It starts with an unusual and unexpected vibe with deep low vocals that develop into an impactful beat with blissful harmonies. There is the use of repeated patterns that keep progressing creating a rich and colorful instrumental. With, “Inner Circle”, Simon opted to begin with a dry beat in crescendo, followed by a more authentic penetrating tone. The track expands with beautifully layered vocals and detailed strong percussion ending with a driven arpeggiated synth.

Already in 2021, we get an inviting track with a confessional tone, ”Malibu” displays a more intimate feeling that is counterbalanced with a harsh beat. There is a change of mood marked with present harmonious backing vocals that leads us to a more relaxed atmosphere which ends with a distinct guitar solo. Later that year, Simon released “Happy Meal”, a more pop-inspired song with a fluid beat. There is a dialogue between voice and piano, which response with small melodic elements instead of only accompanying. During this song, Simon shows the diversity of his vocal register as well as his voice placement. The track creates a circular movement, again breaking and changing moods but not abruptly and not focusing on captivating the listener only on the chorus.

Coming along with 2022, “Time to Leave” launches a playful bass into a more cheerful vibe coated with gentle serene harmonies created by its smooth tone of Simon. The groovy guitar maintains the invigorating feeling of the catchy track that positively collides with the pop-inspired details present throughout the song. With only a few singles, Simon John is entering the industry packing all the right tools that will lead his talent to be recognized worldwide. Don’t miss out on the opportunity to hear something different, pure, and sophisticated, and don’t forget where you heard it first from!
