LA native Chandler Juliet is bringing all the R&B vibes to the Pop scene. Coming from a musical family at only 9-years-old Chandler started writing her own songs. In 2015, her song “Road Trip” won best pop record at the Indie Music Channel Awards and from there, she continued to develop her musical style and explore her vocal capabilities. In 2019, Chandler Juliet released the cohesive 4-track EP Elements. Each element is very well represented in each song. In the first track, “Burning Sage”, representing the element of fire, there is an initial arpeggiated guitar followed by a dry beat and steady bass. There is also a variety and alternation of register with soothing backing vocals ending in a big instrumental work. “Hide and Seek”, representing earth, has an electro acoustic vibe, with striking guitars and an evolution to a faster pace creating a mysterious atmosphere and a driven chorus. There is some beautiful details, like the layered vocal harmonies and the lyrics which carry an impactful metaphor about the game we used to love as kids.

In the last two years, Chandler released a few singles, some of them present in the amazing EP she just released on February 2022, “Language of Love”. The EP begins with a captivating tone. “Love Language” delivers a modern lifting synth with a strong fluid beat. The theme is something that could be considered cliché but Chandler brings a fresh and unusual perspective focusing on the language not only on love. The single is filled of good transitions with exceptional harmonies and a catchy chorus.

“Praying” is a seductive track that contains dialogue and a sneaky beat that develops into a powerful fierce rhythmic section. On the other hand, “Worship” has a dense bass, with vocals that carry hurt and angriness. My personal favorite is, “Bitch Don’t Bother Me”, an intoxicating track with a gripping guitar hook and a more whispered tone. The song is rhythmically rich and more danceable and there is a wise play of registers between the verse and chorus. Chandler Juliet is an incredibly diverse artist, she delivers every time, putting her soul into her poetic lyrics and deftly produced songs.
