A Granddaughter's Love Note Through the Work of Rod Stewart
77-year-old British rock artist Rod Stewart has incredible depth and soul throughout his remarkable diverse body of work. Having gotten his start in 1969, he has shown the world his talent through the years as an accomplished writer, performer, and musician.
As a young Canadian girl, I listened to a diverse array of music, and that included the work of Rod Stewart. My Granddad was the most spectacular person I have ever met, and our mutual love of Rod Stewart was a big part of our entire relationship. Growing up we spent hours upon hours sitting and singing along to some of our favorite songs performed by him. “Forever Young” is one of Rod’s most popular songs, and it’s the one I associate with him the most.
Rod Stewart currently has a show at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, Nevada. I was lucky enough to have the opportunity to see him in concert there a few months ago with my family. His stage presence and upbeat attitude—especially for his age—were incredible to witness. While the audience was made up of mostly older people, I was not the only younger person in the crowd. Rod Stewart has a huge following of loyal fans because of what an inspiring, joyful and captivating performer he is.
Rod Stewart has made a lasting impact on my life through his music, and it has shaped the relationship I built with my Granddad. His music has impacted generations of people and will continue to do so for years to come. His body of work stands for itself. But coupled with his stage presence and performance abilities, he is a force to be reckoned with.
